OAASTM is culture plate for measuring the resorption ability of osteoclasts.
OAASTM is a culture plate based on OCT.'s platform technology "Calcium Phosphate
Nano Crystal Coating Technology" which is used to measure the activity
of the osteoclast in bone research. Due to its bottoms of the wells, coated
with low crystalline of carbonated calcium phosphate, OAASTM resembles human
bone and will be a perfect substitute for dentin slice. Commercialized kit OAAS
has up to 48 wells.

However, OCT conducts research activities using as much as 280 wells internally.
OCT is currently looking for global distribution opportunities through Invitrogen
Corporation.
Advantages of OAASTM are as follows:
- more reliable data are produced with OAASTM because bottoms of its wells
are coated with calcium phosphate which acts as a substrate for the osteoclast.
It is more comparable to human bone than other products coated with synthetic
hydroxyapatite;
- It is possible to observe the differentiation while culturing the osteoclast
precursor cells (Culture period: 2-3 days for matured osteoclast, 7-12 days
for precursor cell). Due to its clear calcium carbonate coated wells, the
resorption area can be observed under light microscope without SEM or even
with bare eyes.
